It probably won't work. The 2 series ABS ring is about half the thickness of the 3 series ring. You may get lucky enough to have the sensor pick-up the very edge of it but think about how pissed off you'll be if it doesn't work and you have to pull it apart again. I don't think they're very expensive at the dealer.
