Maximum HPP+ 1-2 shift....+6 or +12 ? I have a HPP+ I bought about a year ago, and the maximum I can push the 1-2 shift to with my "built" tranny is 6100 RPM/ HPP "+6", per Autotap. ( BTW, I have a mild heads/cam setup now, sig is out of date <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> )
Is there a NEWER version of '98 HPP+ out there? I thought I heard somebody mentioning pushing their 1-2 to "+12" like the other shifts (2-3, at least) allow <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
If so, I'm sure I'll want to send mine back and have it updated <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> I need more like ~6500 RPM shift points now...

Re: Maximum HPP+ 1-2 shift....+6 or +12 ? Interesting, do you have it setup for the 2.73 gears, or do you still have those gears? Is it setup for the right size tire that you're running when you ATAP. The +6 is 6 mph more than stock. On the 1-2 that should be over 600 rpm more than stock shouldn't it (it tells what each mph is worth in rpms in the HPP3 manual, which I dont have right now).
To my knowledge there is no newer or more advanced version of the HPP3 yet, unless you want to count LS1 Edit <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: Maximum HPP+ 1-2 shift....+6 or +12 ? I have the same issue with my built tranny. It wants to shift out of 1st really early. I had the pcm done and I think I'm at +8 and it's shifting at 6150. As an experiment I took my pcm and installed it in a buddies car with HPP3 set to -5 and his stock tranny was shifting at around 6400rpm's, with the same setting I would be shifting around 5500.
I think there's some serious lag in shifting with the factory tranny.
