- 9 inch has removable center section
- 9 inch does not really have provision for ABS that I know of

9 inch is stronger
9 inch takes a few more hp to turn
9 inch has more gear ratios readily available from what I have seen. One website I went to had 55 different gear ratios from 2.84 to 7.0 available. Not custom gearsets mind you, they were all standard parts.

strange 12 bolt or 9" long as everyones asking rearend questions- whats the major difference between the two? will the 9" soak up more hp and reduce ets by itself? hows the 9" bolt up compared to a strange, and whats a 9" cost in comparison?
