Default a much discussed subject

I know that a lot has been written about torque converters, but I think my questions are somewhat specific. What t/c will get "closest" to the following objectives for an h/c C5 with 3:15's and a4.
-would not be too loose for a daily driver
-would not roast the tires
-would pull strongly through each gear(no big dead spots)
It seems that the yank 3000 2.0 str would come closer than the vig 2800 2.5.
Any opinions other ideas etc. would help,I hope, relieve some of my confusion.

The yank 3000 seems like a better choice for what you are looking for. It should be much easier on the tires. Also keep in mind the vig. 2800 is closer to a 3200 stall speed.
