will any axles work with trac control My question is will any axles work with trac control option? And does anyone have one cheap of course? 28sp, 7.5, 10blt posi, w/ ABS and trac C, gu6, g80(trying to give all possible info.). Really only need the right side (mechanic suggestion). any input?
The axles are the same yes, but the reluctor ring needs to be mounted on it for traction control to work.
I have 2 axles for sale but you would need to reuse your own reluctor ring.

what if the relucter ring is damaged in the housing, can i reuse the old axle and get a new relucter ring? is that a decent question and possible solution? I am in a learing phase. I also do not want to get ripped off. I was told to get a new axle with trac control on right side, if not he will get on for 200+.

Mind telling us what's wrong with the car? Did you break an axle or something?
$200+ is a lot of money for an axle. You should consider buying a used axle (~$25-$50) and if it doesn't have the ring on it already, you could probably get one from someone on here or from the dealership for less than $50.

Having a hard time figuring out what route to take. But here is the latest, Mechanic quotes "The carrier is damaged, axle with trac c is damaged. We have to replace carrier (i bought one from ebay 105.00) , right side axle w/ Trac_C (looking, he can get one for 200), new ring & pinion, bearings, setup kit (already have those items)". So last piece of my distorted puzzle is axle with trac control. I will check if the axle is broken or if relucter ring is damaged. Just very upset with all that is going on. this is my first chevy.
