Tranny maintenance Qs I'm about to change my auto tranny fluid & filter. I want to change it to Royal Purple. How much fluid does it hold? Where can I get the correct filter? I also want to add a pan with a drain plug and cooling fins. What is a good one? Preferably not one too much lower than stock. Would an aluminum one help with weight much? Thanks a lot!

What's the additive all about?

Re: Tranny maintenance Qs Royal purple.. oooh that could get expensive. You won`t be able to get all the fluid changed since most of it will be left in the converter and such. I believe only a 1/3 of the fluid will come out of the trans pan.
I`d say you`re better of with just regular dino trans fluid and more changes. A nice alternartive to the expensive deep trans pans is the truck pan. No fins but how much cooling can those really give ya?? Comes with a drain too and it`s not low. No weight saving over there either... get the filter at any auto parts store.
