Default Ford 8.8 questions

this summer i plan on changing out my rear end in my camaro. I plan on getting a ford 8.8" and putting it in. i have a couple questions?
How can i determine a ford 8.8" in a junkyard? what cars come with them?
will this rearend hold up with 4:10's in it?
can i take the axle tubes off of the 10 bolt and put it on the 8.8 or will i have to transfer brakets?
thanks in advance

The easiest way is to look at the tag on one of the cover bolts. It will say something like 3 L 73 88 on the top left. Thats a 3.73 posi 8.8.
3 73 75 would be a 3.73 open 7.5.
Most common vehicles are mustangs, 4.0 rangers, and all explorers.
The big problem you're going to have is the torque arm mount.

I spent 3 months making the 8.8" that's in my car. It can be done, but I'd really recommend a budget 9" Ford. The torque arm mount is a major pain!
