Default Thinking about a Dana 70

Looking at going with a Dana 70 for my 95Z BBC. I can get one for a real good price and have it cut down to fit the Camaro. I'm looking at maybe having $6-700 in the total price. I know some people have went with Dana 60's so I was just wondering if this would be feasible. I know its probably overkill but at least I wouldn't haven't worry about breaking it.

The Dana 70 will be overkill in the weight department for sure. The bigger ring gear diameter is not needed that much for the street. You can pick up rear Dana 60's with the small diameter axle tubes for nothing. They are a dime a dozen. Then you can get 35 spline 1.5" axle shafts(same as a stock Dana 70) or even the new 40 spline shafts and have them gun drilled and Detroit Locker is making a 40 spline locker for this type of setup and be stronger than a Dana 70 as far as shafts go and save a TON of weight.
