Default 12 bolt cover??

Are the extra bolts on the cover for adjustments? I have 4.10 with a aluminum cover/spool and about to put in new wheel studs. Just wanted to know if there is anything special about removing and installing the cover? Thanks

If you are talking about the two bolts in the center of the cover they are to keep pressure on the bearing caps for the carrier.

Yes thats them. Do I just remove them before taking off the cover? How tight should they be when I reassemble? Thanks

Just back them off of the bearing to remove the preload. When you button the rear end back up and get all of cover bolts tight snug those back down faily tight and it's ready. You might want to put some silicone on those bolts also. I have had some that let alittle gear oil leak past. Just enough to keep the cover wet.
