Gear Question
Gear Question I have a th350, 3500 stall, cam that make power till about 6500 RMP and a 26 inch tire ..... will a 3.90 gear be good for the 1/4 mile or would i have to go to a 28inch tire ...... if i have to go to a 28 tire ill run a 4.10 gear instead
also who makes the 3.90 gear???

(just plug 'n play your own #'s ... for a TH350, 1st gear = 2.52, 2nd gear = 1.52, 3rd = 1.00)
With 26" tires, 6500 RPM redline, and 3.90's, you're good 'til upto ~129 mph

With 28" tires, 6500 RPM redline, and 3.90's, you're good 'til upto ~139 mph!
Change that to 4.10's, and the top speeds are 123 mph & 132 mph respectively

id like to go on motor a low 11 but i have to keep in mind it will eventually be a nitrous car so i am actually thinkin a 3.73 might be wut i need ... right now it has wut ever cam stock for a rear gear on a 02 WS6 M6 car wich is 3.23 or 3.42 im not sure.......

Possibly somebody referenced the SS's and WS6's which all came with 3.23's if they had the automatic? Whereas, other autos came with 2.73's (3.23's were just an option then). But AFAIK, 3.23's were part of the SS/WS6 package for A4's, but ALL 6-speeds have 3.42's (from '94 - '02 ..... '93s had 3.23's I believe, with the M28/M29 6-speeds??
