I need to know down to the nut and bolt, how to switch out my M6 for someone else's A4. I have access to a professional shop with lift, tools everything and think the swap should be pretty straight forward.
I need some expert advice on the swap...and a list of what is needed to do it...parts etc. Is swapping out trannies possible to do in a weekend with a lift and air tools? My drag racing days with the M6 are coming to an end...just tired of inconsistent times.

How the hell can I run the 4L60E tranny without having an automatic tranny hookup with my computer. I think I am screwed for the switch, because my computer doesnt have the necessary crap to run the auto tranny. Does anyone know what will work? Does anyone make something to run the tranny seperate from the OBDII computer? HELP!

Then you'd just have to run the wiring for the auto to the PCM

Just went through this swap and Im not going to beat around the bush , IT WAS A BITCH ! switching from A4 to M6 is pretty stright forward , But going from M6 to A4 is a differant story ! BUT after doing it , I can save you alot of worry that I had to go through ! The main thing is to make sure you get all the ele. conections from his car , and even though it may be hard , You guys need to switch complete harnesses , I cut and spliced and it looks like *** !! Im still having problems getting my converter to lock up and Im convenced it's in my poor wiring ! You need his PCM , shifter , console , Tourqe Arm mount , tranny lines , and unless you want to add an aftermaket tranny cooler you will need to swap radiators ! I have no back up lights , But I could wire them up if I wanted ... Switching the pedals is Well ummmm NOT FUN !!! Make sure you have a 3 day weekend for this one , He will have to cut a hole in his floor for the M6 shifter , when he does , weld it in place where you hole is ! If you do it I would be more then happy to help out with any questions , just email me or call (931)265-4652

I decided to drop the swap. Another guy here in town recently attempted it, and it was a disaster. He ended up selling the A4 and purchased a TH400. I am doing the same. The TH400 swap is supposed to be very easy with a conversion kit which is offered by Yank.
Thanks for your input.
Now what to do with this pesky M6 with 13000 miles on it? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
