dumb question i read the faq for rear gears and checked in my car to see what i had. on the glove compartment sticker it said gu2 on the top right. the faq says m6 cars got 3.42s but it says gu2 means 2.73s. maybe i'm looking in the wrong spot but i'm not sure. the car is a 93 z28 if that changes anything which i doubt it does. i'd like to know what gears i have for really no reason except to know lol. i'm trying to learn everything i can about my car because that's how most of us are.
So your car is a manual?
There will be around 30 other codes where the GU2 lays...either the glovebox or the door jam. If your car is a manual and it has a GU2, that would leave me to believe perhaps it used to be an automatic...I take it you're not the original owner?

no i'm not the original owner. i'm the second owner. one of the codes on there is mn6 so its a factory six speed. i doubt that the guy would've paid the money to convert it because i know he couldn't have done it himself. he's not a car guy at all from what i could tell.
