Default Will GM Synromesh work in the 6 speeds?

Ive heard from numerous people that the GM Syncromesh is the best stuff around for a manual tranny. Does it work for our six speeds or is it too thick?

It works for me, I've used the stock fluid for about 2K, then Mobile 1, then SyncroMesh. The local GM dealer mech. said to only use Dex2,yap, yap, yap. Synthetic is too slick, you will ruin it. Well I call GM customer service and they said that SyncroMesh is fine. I haven't tried Redline or Amsoil but it shifts better than M1. BTW, I've got 33K miles on it now and I changed to SyncoMesh around 8 or 9K miles and no problems and I beat the heck out of it.

GM Syncromesh fluid (p/n 12345349) is basically a 5W30 motor oil. I would recommend Redline D4ATF instead (besides it costs about the same <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> ).
