If you have an A4 then the factory shaft will carry you a long way. M6s don't fair so well with aluminum shafts once the launches start to get serious.
A few VERY good but affordable shafts might be the nitrous ready shaft from Denny's Driveshafts, the Metal Matrix, or Chromoly shafts from Mark Williams.
Carbon Fiber shafts are great too (I run one in my 9 second ride.) Just make sure you get one strong enough for what you're doing (they, like others, vary.)
