New member quick help! Hi,
I got a 1992 camaro about 2 months ago. It is an RS, I got it with a 350 chevy crate motor in it with plenty of mods. ls1 tranny out of a 98 camaro(as he told me) with a posi rear end off it too. I'm just trying to make sure that is what I have. See I hit a curb last night in a rain storm with the drivers side rear end straight on(going sideways) so the axle snapped at the wheel along with bending the drum brake mounting plate(with the shoes attached to it). I'm a motorcycle tech so I know a little bit about this kind of stuff and have rebuilt a few engines, but never really worked with the rear end. But if I have posi if I let out the clutch in gear wouldnt the passenger side still spin? It isnt what so ever, just the side thats snapped. So I guess what I'm asking is what year/model camaro parts should I be looking for, and is my posi messed up? Or is the clutches in there messed up?? Please help me out asap, its sitting with 3 wheels on it in a walmart parking lot as I type, so I'd love to get it rolling asap. THANKS!-darren

The mods I know it has- 350 crate motor, crane cams, aftermarket heads, roller rockers, holley full TPI intake, iroc forced intake with k&ns, SLP headers with flowmaster full thunder cat back. Holley fuel pump, H.O. oil pump, msd ignition, full lowering kit, iroc skirts, thats all I can think of what he told me hope it helps some how. Thanks-darren

I'm pretty sure its something other than limited slip, it likes to squeak pretty easliy around corners, and tight corners it'll squeek almost every times and you can hear something in the rear end like making a popping sound. Kinda hard to explain. Would that say they welded the spider gears?? thanks for the reply. Keep em comin-darren
