400+rwhp Weekend Driver.
I have a 99 Camaro SS M6...
I am getting ready to put in a big cam abd build the motor, This car hardly ever sees the track...
I was wondering do you think I should go with a 9" or 12bolt?
Thanks.
Jesse

both are good choices....I wanted to stay with GM so i went with a 12-bolt..the 12bolt is a bit whinier than the 9inch from what ive been told...but i do not believe u could go wrong with either setup

Are you going to be racing this car at the drag strip with sticky tires and launching off the rev limiter or is it just going to be a weekend cruiser? If the latter, then why not just stay with the 10-bolt? If you're going to be on the street and not launching like crazy, I'd just stay with the 10-bolt. I'm pushing 411rwhp and have been driving on the street with some 275/50/15 BFG drag radials without problems. If you're going to be launching at the track, then I would opt for the 9 inch.

From my understanding, a 9 inch is intended for the six speeds and the 12 bolt for the autos. But like Krab said, if you're just going to be cruisin' around the streets and not seeing that much (if at all) track time, then save the dough and stick with what you've got.
