Spool Gears

Car i just bought has a spool and 4.10's. I want to switch to 3.73's and keep the spool, do i have to get gears specially designed for a spool? Im not sure if the spool is built in to the gears or really how it works because until this car id never even heard of spools before since i come from the world of rx7's and none of them do it that i know of.

No you can get the 3.73's and not have to worry about a diffrent spool, you will be fine.

If it is a 12 bolt the spools are different for a 3.73 and a 4.10, unless you get a thin gear 3.73 or have a thick 4.10. If it is a 9", or a 10 bolt with a mini spool you are fine.
