Default Launching at the track w/a 6-speed

I have just recently purchased a '98 Z28 with a 6-speed. I've had many auto. cars that I've taken to the track, but this is the first 6-speed. I don't know how to launch...help! It's stock right now and my fastest time is 13.5 @ 105mph with a 2.25 60'.

A lot will depend on your tires, your mods, and track conditions.

Basically, practice. Start at 2500rmp (street tires), slip the clutch a little and than hammer it. Try different tire pressure. If you are serious about drag racing:

This will lead up to: McCleoud clutch, MT ET Street, 100 shot of Nitrous out of the hole, all on a 5500 rpm clutch droping launch. Not very good the tranny or rear-end but what a rush

Good Luck

just practice. you'll get it down. if you're like me right when you get it down you'll get some slicks and start the mindless 6k dumps. that's where the fun is...
