Need Help Bad on Differentials Alright long story short i f-d up the rear end in my 01 v6 firebird. Its a non-posi with 3.08 gears. I wanna convert it to a limited slip with say 3.23 - 3.73 gears. Or anywhere in between. What all do i need to get and what works best? Been lookin at slp and auburn. Thanx
I would think the easiest & cheapest way would be to get a diff from a junk yard out of a 98-02 TransAm/Camaro.
If it's a M6 you will have 3.42 gears in it.
If it's an auto, then look in the door for the RPO code GU5 (3.23) Stay away from GU2 as that's a 2.73 rear end.
I believe the drive shafts will mount straight up without modification, but I've never done it myself. Only worked on V8 4th gens.
