Rear End Identification Sorry if this has been covered already, but I did a search and couldn't find anything.
I'm going to look at a 2000 rear end today. It supposedly came out of a Z28 M6 parts car. From what I've read here, it should be a 3.42:1 Series 3 with an RPO code of GU6 on the door sticker. Is the GU6 code also stamped somewhere on the chunk? I guess I can always turn the pinion and count the revs at the wheel, but I'd like a better way to ID it.
