Default 9" question, aluminum center & street use

I know guys use aluminum center sections on the street, but I have read that they aren't recommended for extended driving periods (whatever that happens to be). My car sees like 2500 miles/year, and the farthest I will ever drive it is to the drag strip (~130 miles from my house) Do you think the weight savings is worth it for a street car that sees the track 5-10 times a year?

I wouldn't worry about it since you do not put that much miles on it. The only thing you are woried about is the casting distorting because of heat or torque. You will be fine.

Thanks for the comments guys, my car is still a bolton car, but it should have a cam this next season. Trying to run an 11 on boltons first.
