help with gears alright sorry if there is a post for this but i looked n found nothing... i want to put 4.10s in my 99 ta m6, i wanted to know if i need a different rear end like a 10 bolt or bigger. thanks
Most people just can't resist a 6k clutch dump when they have 4.10's and there goes the rear end.
If you roll into it you should be alright for a while, but in a M6 I'd start saving for a 9" or 12 bolt.

I put 4.10s in my factory 10 bolt and everything was fine for about 12k. I have had the heads/cam setup on the car for a few thousand miles or so. I beat on it alot on motor and it held. This past sat at the track I decided to spray it for the first time on top of the H/C and on the first pass the posi exploded on the 1-2 shift. I was running Nittos and launching soft. I want a 9in but for now I just want to drive the thing. Gonna fix the 7.5 and save for a 9in. No more nitrous til then
