set me straight on this
set me straight on this alright i have a 2000 trans am auto. IM pretty postive the car has 2.73's in it. And it has the Torsen differential. So do i have a 2 series carreir or 3 series. At first i thought all torsens were 3 series and all auburn were 2 series. Now after reading i realize that all differentials can be 2 series or 3 series and it depends on the factory gear ratio right? 3.23 and up=3 series and 3.08 and down = 2 series. Am i correct? Thinking of puting in 4.10's
My car is only a weekend worrior so i was thinking about puting a mini spool in off of summit the only place i could find them. Now i have no clue if they will fit in my torsen diff or just an auburn. Do they remove the spider gears and other gears in an torsen or do the gears stay their or do they only work with auburn. An auburn can be put in my housing correct?
Please help im so lost.

The carrier series is the same as the first number in the ratio. For example if the original gear was a 3.08, then it is a 3 series, if the original gear was a 2.73, then it is a 2 series, if the original gear was a 4.11, then it is a 4 series, etc. etc..
