Why are the bearings already pressed on?
Why are the bearings already pressed on? In the process of installing a Moser 12 bolt in my buddy's car. First one I've done but it went pretty smooth until I realized this ****:
The bearings are already pressed onto the axles.
First of all, why the hell would Moser do that? You have to put the brake backing plates on first and then the bearings. Hell, it even says "put backing plates on, then use a press to press the bearings on" in Moser's instructions.

Exactly. And we ordered it straight from Moser. I'm not the most mechanically advanced dude in the world, I just usually dive in and hopefully not break too much, but how would you suggest we remove the bearings to get the backing plates on? Probably a n00b question but I gotta get about 3 hours of sleep and then start working on this again so I'd rather just get a straight answer from somebody who knows what they are doing haha.

They're not SUPPOSED to put the bearings on yet, but it's happened in more than just your case, no idea why. I was even told I would have to request the bearings not be pressed on yet. WTF?
