whine at 55mph
whine at 55mph i havent had any noise out of the rear whatsoever with these 4.10's, but when im on the gas in 5th or 6th i get a slight whine on the drive side of the gear. it never did it before, but i read 4.10's smake some noise at thoes speeds. i get no other problems, or clunks, or anything.
the gears wore in perfectly after 500 miles..
the only thing i would think hurt them is a little wheelhop from spinning 2nd through water alot.. but as soon as i feel it i put the clutch in.
so is it just normal whine?

i have it too, its the set up backlash, should be between 0.008 and 0.010 I added some friction modifier (GM posi additive) and they quieted down a little but didnt go away. I am using Redline synthetic oil if that makes any difference. I know they seemed louder with valvoline synthetic but not by much.
yea i was thinking about the backlash being unset again after driving it for awhile. they were set at .008.
