Time for a new tranny!
The 1.82 gear is like driving around with second gear start on an F-body; not terribly horrible, especailly given your high gears A 4.56 rear gear & 1.82 is the same effective gearing as a stock F-body's first gear (2.73 & 3.06), so your 4.33 set-up is pretty streetable in town. Your highway mileage may vary.
The lower HP consumption by the tranny would seem to show up more at light part throttle. As percent of total HP required to get the car rolling gently, the wasted HP is a pretty high percent, so reducing it should make the car feel tighter. At WOT, the differential effect is much smaller and I agree with Colonel that it is unlikely to effect your crossing rpm much (maybe 100 rpm max) and will have no effect if you lock up the converter. If you are playing real close to the edge, I suppose the reduction in wasted HP could add 1-2 MPH to your trap speed.
