question about slave cylinder
if the slave is out of the car, shouldnt it be locked?
what I mean is, I just pulled mine out (and I have been getting a soft pedal, not sure if its the slave or all in my screwed up pressure plate), and I can push in on the slave- I thought its supposed to be firm since there is nowhere for the fluid to go (master is disconnected, tranny is on the ground)?

Re: question about slave cylinder
thanks for the speedy reply!!
ok, i was worried about that, it still doesnt make sense to me, since I think its supposed to be pushing fluid that has nowhere to go. I remember having a problem the first time i did the clutch, where i was connecting the line to the slave and it wouldnt connect (untill i loosened the bleeder valve).
I figured its under pressure, but i guess not
thanks again, looks like i'm not gonna replace the slave (only 15k on it, bearing seems to turn good).
