Is My Diff Dead? I've got the stock diff in my car right now. I put one of those SLP/ Zexel posi units in about three yrs ago. Now when I accelerate I get a horrible clunk from the rear druing the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. It shakes the whole car and you can really hear it. I haven't had the guts to open the case and check it out yet. If I baby the throttle it doesn't do it, but if it's anything more than quarter-throttle it really thumps. Any ideas? Or should I just check the torque on the LCA bolts?
ive blown my rear end out and when it did you could only notice when in a low gear runing about 1500rpm, it would go "clunk.. clunk..clunk" which was the sound of the pinion catching the remaining threads on the ring gear

That's exactly what I'm feeling. It doesn't do it at all if I'm on the freeway. It only does it when I give it about half-throttle from either a stop or a slow roll. Looks like I need a new posi unit. Great.
