Cant say what to get but I will tell you what NOT to get. The Motive with the spacer sucks. The spacer makes it almost imposable to align. What ever you choose, make sure its the thick gear.

You need to find a good builder!! My brother just did that exact swap and it is quiet the only noise it makes is a little noise on heavy breaking and even motive says if you want it completley quiet you need to replace the carrier! Just my .02$ And yes going from a 2.73 to a 3.73 is going to be a good diffrence especially on lower speeds! Your spedo will be off by about 20-25 at 70

You bring up something I was wondering about. Last summer when I was buying my gears, everyone was saying to stay away from the thick gears because they were all noisey. So I got some OEM gears and a 3 series differential. Now a lot of people are going with the thick gears, and everything seems OK. I wonder why the change in enthusiasm over thick gears?

well the main noise causer is improper install. Mine onthe other hand was that ring. It was installed and made a loud grinding/whine. Took it back out and the spacer ring was not true. It was .8 thicker on one side than the other. The company backed it up and sent me another kit. The new one was only .2 out. not great but a lot better. I said screw it and will be running this till I get a 9".
