6 speed shifter Question

6 speed shifter Question My wife is not so hot at driving a stick. She loves my car but has the nasty habit of missing gears. For example she'll shift from 2nd to 5th and it totaly frustrates her. I am getting ready to install a pro 5.0 shifter but was also wondering if anyone has come across a metal gate to replace the factory leather boot or do you know of someone that could custom make a piece for a reasonable price? You know the kind of metal shifting gates the higher end sports cars come with.

Re: 6 speed shifter Question interesting question...would definetly take some fabricating and trial and error testing. How many times has she drove the car? I know my wife said the 6-speed was a little hard to get used to compared to her 5-speed Integra she used to drive but I had already warned her about being careful when downshifting and not to go from 5th to 2nd <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> ! She mainly complained about the skip shift and hated it..told her to give it a little more gas and problem solved <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> .
Still interesting question, never seen one on a manual f-body even since the 1982 models.
