I've been having a noise from under the car during accel and decel. I thought it was my y pipe banging but after looking under it today it seems as if the front mount on my torque arm is hitting the driveshaft loop. I left the mount loose like the directions said so it could swivel. Did I do something wrong? Anything I can do to stop this? It's very annoying. Really does it when backing up from a stop. I have it set at -2. This is mounted on a moser 12 bolt if that matters.

I don't think it's the trans mount. Only because I have just recently installed this new trans and the mounts were good yet I get this exact noise he is talking about with my Spohn TQ arm. Mine mounts to the same botls where my KBDD subframes connect were the old G-Load brace used to go. Durring normal acceleration I don't really hear it but when first give it a litte gas it sounds like something rubbing/grinding, it also makes horrible noises upon deceleration. Kinda thought my rear end was shot when I first heard it. Glad I am not the only one getting this noise. My TQ Arm was set ofr -2 also.

Any pics of the arm installed anywhere? I think it can only go one way. This is really bugging me....starting to clunk going over bumps now.

I have heard of others have the torque arm put a dent or hole into the tunnel where in comes into contact.
Where the torque arm bolts up the the rear end see if the upper corner is coming into contact with your floorboard or tunnel.

my spohn was hitting the the rear above my moser 12 bolt on the floorpan. I stuck a crow bar in there and repositioned the floor pan, then got a hammer and put a bigger fkn dent, no more noise!

Found out today that my TQ arm is also hitting the side of the tunnel at the end of the TQ arm. The giant bolts on the Spohn TQ arm and gouging the side of the tunnel pretty bad. Found my noise.

The botls that are hitting are on the rear of the TQ arm, right were it bolts to the diff. The noises I hear sound like they are comming form the rear but the feeling is under me and to the rear. Keep in mind that the TQ arm mounts to the G-load brace bolts which are right under your seat so some of the energy is transfered through the TQ arm and to the floorpan at the front of the TQ arm. Check it out and see if yours is hitting.
I can see mine plain as day if you look at the TQ arm botls from the rear of the car while it is on a lift or jack stands.

i have the same thing going on with my spohn ta. i can make it thump if im going down the highway in 5th or 6th. i just stab the gas really quick and let off really quick for a guaranteed thump everytime. i have a es poly mount thats new. i also noticed the rear nuts were coming in contact with the floorpan on the driver side. it sure sounds like its right under me though.tomorrow i hope the hammer will fix it. kev

I found this thread doing a search and I wanted to add my comments. I am experiencing the exact same issues everyone is describing. This might be the most annoying thing ever! Especially with all the crap my car has been through lately. I feel the majority of the thud under my console area where the TA mounts. I guess I'll use the "adjustment" mod you have been describing.

Mine was definately hitting where the bolts mount it to the rear end. The car is done for the year so I'll have to wait till spring to see if the hammer mod fixed it.

My car was not hitting the bolts at all it was hitting the corner on the very back top of the torque arm and it was hitting on the rear drive shaft loop when you put he bolts in it.

Another clunker here. I'm going to try cranking down more on the front bolt. See if it does it. I got under car, drove it, and you can see torque arm sliding up and down a little. I think that is where my clunk is coming from, because you can watch rearend move up/down. Funny thing is though before I had my tranny built with shift kit I didn't ahve this problem. Now I do. I'm sure it's not my tranny though. Is it safe to take torque arm off, with my car up on jackstands drive it a little and see if it still clunks? Thanks.

I had the thump issue to. I called spohn and they told me about the DS tunnel issue, I put a small dent in the tunnel and it still thumped. It turned out to be the lower shackle bolt where the TA mounts to the crossmember. Just tighten it down some.
