gear at the line Can anyone that may be running 4.10 gears in an M6 car tell me if they make it to the finish line in the 1/4 mile in fourth gear?
I've only ran the 1/8 so far with my new rear and I am right at 6000rpms at the finish line in third gear. Will I be able to make it in the 1/4 without having to hit fifth?

Re: gear at the line that really bites huh probably should have gone with the 3.73's a buddy of mine can go across the line still in 3rd at 117mph and I've gotta shift to 5th. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> Oh well that's just another shift to lose more time with.
Re: gear at the line It will depend on your trap speed, tire size, and redline.
With a 6500 rpm redline and 26x11.5x16 ET Streets you can do 125 in 4th gear or 121 @ 6300.

If you go with a 28" ET Drag like we talked about the other day, you'll have plenty of room. You need to scrap those ET Streets and get some MANLY tires under the back-end for some wheels-up launches. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> With a 28" tire and 4.10's, you'll be just fine. Jason 98 TA, among others, ran 4.30's with 28" ET Drags and crossed the line at 126 MPH in 4th gear. Your shift points will be a determining factor as well, as Joel said, as to where you cross the finish line RPM-wise.
Get a set of fat tires under the back with some nice sidewall, and you'll thank me after you launch on them for the first time. <img border="0" alt="[Firebird]" title="" src="graemlins/formula.gif" />
