and unless your one of the heavy hitters a 9 inch is over kill in my opinion.
That's silly. With a 9" (if you're not too cheap), you can get a cheap stock cast center section and build it with your street gears (273 or whatever you want) for good gas mileage, then have a strong strip hogshead as well with your strip gears. Best of both worlds.
Will be adding my 9" soon ,just for the added peace of mind. I just sold my Moser 12 bolt and it was holding up just fine...my buddy has it now. I plan on seeing much more track time this year along with more mods to justify the change.
