normal pro5.0 noises or not?
normal pro5.0 noises or not? Ok, I put the pro5.0 in my 2000 Hawk in place of the stock Hurst yesterday. Now I know it is going to make some noise, but I just wanted to check and make sure that it wasn't making "bad" noises - as in not put in right.
It makes a noise similar to a metal lathe. And it is louder/noticeable when pressing the gas as opposed to just coasting in gear.
As I said, I know it isn't quiet - at least not till I make my own gasket (I used RTV at the moment) - anyway, just wanted to make sure that was the noise everyone was talking about.

Re: normal pro5.0 noises or not? my pro 5.0 dont hardle make any noise at all.i did wrap electrical tape around the bottom where the shifter touches the stop bolts.i'm not sure if this is why mine is quiet or not. wish i could help more,good luck.

Re: normal pro5.0 noises or not? That noise sounds about right, my Ripper does it slightly. Just roll your windows down, it will go away. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
