changing rear end fluid
changing rear end fluid I unintenionally drained my rear end fluid out by pulling off the 10 bolt cover. I was in the hunt to see how my gears look, how the oil is holding up, and if there was any metal shearing. Everything turned out to look great 
so possibly my sound that's coming from the back of the car is the wheels/tires.
But now I need to fill it back up. How much do I need? I bought M1 synthetic gear oil & some gm slip additive. The rear end is from a 2001 WS6, so therefore I think it's the torsen diff. Would I use about 1.75 to 2.00 quarts of oil and a few ounces of the slip additive? How do I know when I have enough in there besides remembering how many quarts I poured in?

Fill the diff. until the fluid just drips out of the fill hole on the side. I'm not sure of the exact amount that goes in, I always just went until it started coming out of the fill hole.

well I put almost 2 quarts in it. Then it started to leak out from the fill hole on the side. Putting fluid in it sucks since there isn't any space to hold the bottle up right.
