Default rear end poping?

I was driving yesterday with my friend and he noticed that when i shift, my rear end makes a faint popping noise. I dont know much about the subject, but is this something that i should worry about, or nothing at all? its not loud at all, you would almost have to listen for it to hear it, and it only does it on occasion. any help would be awsome, thanks.
