Re: Gear break-in recommendations I found the best thing to do is to Heat cycle the gears .. the first few times out what you want to do is drive the car easy for 20 -30 miles to get the gears hot .. then let them cool down for a few hours. I don't belive that you have to put 500 miles on the gears before they are broken in. just heat cycle them 3-4 times and you will be set <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: Gear break-in recommendations Moser said to run them in forward and reverse for two minutes each on jack stands. Then normal easy driving for about 10-15 miles. Than let it cool off for an hour or more. Than drive it like you stole it. Thats exactly what I did. I was at the track that night!!They Dont recommend synthetic fluid.Remember the limited slip additive!!

Since nobody has suggested how long this period of the break-in should last, I'll just continue to do it for the duration of the gears' life. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
