AARRGGHH car wont shift good!!
I put a new cartek clutch in, and had my tranny rebuilt at the same time. I had a hard *** time getting the tranny back in, all but the last 1/3 inch would go in, so we used the bolts to pull it in...(i know, a no-no). Well ever since I finally got it running right, under heavy take-offs, it will not really go into 2nd or 3rd. I have to force it.
I know the guy that rebuilt it knows his stuff. He's rebuilt quite a few of other guys i know and they have no problems. I'm thinking it's more of a clutch issue. Even though one night, while taking off hard in 2nd, it "grinded" a little bit while trying to shift into 3rd. I had 1st gear replaced, the 1-2 and 2-3 synchros replaced as well.
any ideas? clues?
thanks
John

I think it might be low on fluid, would that cause any problems that I am having?

Do you have an adjustable master? Was the system power bled?
If its not in the hydraulics, I hate to say you may have bent the clutch disc pulling the trans in... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

It wasn't power bled but the whole system was bled before putting it in. I've had bad luck with the whole system. A couple weeks after putting the adj master back in, the rod broke, leaving me stranded about 50 miles from home.
so a bent disk would cause hard shifting? I mean, even under normal driving, there is some hesitation for the shifter to be put in gear.
