Default Please help1

I have a new moser rear that whined a little the first 200-300mi. Now at 600 mi. it is unbearable even with the cutout open, radio on, and even the windows down. I have a little experience in setting backlash so I pulled the plate today and checked it and it came out okay at .0085-.0095. So then I started looking around(carrier bolts, pinion nut tightness etc). I noticed that the contact pattern was good, most of the width of the teeth on the ring gear were being used but not too deep just like it should be. Then I noticed on the edges of the pinion teeth little tiny edges not on the surface where it contacts the ring gear teeth but just on the edges. Then on the ring gear the same edges appeared. If you take your finger and run it across the ring gear on the surface where the numbers are usually stamped there are sharp edges and burrs on it on every valley inbetween teeth. Sorry for the long post but I am just trying to give an accurate description. I am guessing it is a pinion depth issue since the backlash is perfect. Any suggestions?

ring and pinion are junk, who set up the gears??

Thanks Travis, the rear came from EPP. If I could find out the cause and what I need to do I will fix it myself I just don't know what to do.

If you got it from EPP just talk to them. Don't bother trying to deal with Moser. Trust me on that one...

Anyone know the torque specs on the carrier bolts on the Moser? I think I will pull it so I can get a better view of the pinion and see whats going on.
