gear confusion i have a 2000 ws-6 automatic and i want to change the gears in the back what gear should i go with currently it is stock so its running on the 343 but i'm thinking of 373 or higher what should i go with.

If it's stock, then you either have the GU2 which is a 2.73, or the 3.23 which has the GU5 option code which you can check on your driver side door jamb. You don't have 3.43 gears....M6 cars come with 3.42s. Most guys with automatics such as yours go with 3.73s. If your car came with 2.73's, then it has a 2 series carrier since the gear ratio is numerically lower than 3.08. Anything above 3.08 is a 3 series carrier.

As far as the choice between 3.73s and 4.10s....as mentioned, most guys go with 3.73s in automatic cars, but it also depends on what other mods your car has.

Yeah...just noticed that too that it is a WS6 and therefore has the 3.23s.
I am no familiar with automatics, but the torque converter gives a car more kick off the line how? It doesn't engage until the engine reaches a certain speed?

I have a 99 WS-6 automatic with a 3000 stall and I put 4.10's in it and lost a tenth and 3 mph at the track so I put the stock 3.23's back in it and sold the 4.10's. I'm gonna try some 3.73's this year and see if it will help out. I've heard they only help about a tenth if you have a stall. But I would definetely get a stall, it was like a totally different car after I put mine in.
