Anyone ever seen this before?!?
Anyone ever seen this before?!? I have an M6 01 SS Camaro w/16k mi and a lot of bolt ons and took it up to the track this past friday. These pics i have are what is left of my pop can of a driveshaft. Now i have heard plenty of times that the trans and rear end are the weak links on these cars...more so the 10 bolt rear. My best run all day was a 13.22 1/4 and didnt have any problems..about 8 runs. The run that broke my driveshaft was right after they had the highly modified cars running 10's and lower on the track so they had ALOT of trac-bite down. If I would have know this i would have done a lot of things differently but i guess you live and learn.
I guess what my main question is: Is this normal or do i have a lucky rabbits foot in my *** that nothing expensive broke?

I also have a bolt-on M6 car (NO headers or ory, stock intake, but 4.10s in the 10 bolt). It's in the mid 12s on Nitto DRs. I had a supposedly "stronger" 3.5 aftermarket driveshaft, and I broke it, at the front yoke welds, ON THE STREET taking off from a light, NOT even very hard. Now granted, there was a weld defect, and they replaced the whole shaft free of charge/shipping, but it seems I also have one of those "nukeproof" drivetrains otherwise. 
But to answer your question, NO, I have NEVER witnessed one that shredded from a 13 sec. car, EVEN on the stickiest of prepped tracks!!
