supposally the person downshifted from 3rd to 2nd and overrevved and bent a valve. is this possible on an stock auto? hes selling the motor and trans, but im just interested in the trans- any comments? i just need it to last me till winter...then i can get a built trans after it snows and my 6 mo warranty isnt spent sitting in the garage.

How about a tranny out of a 99 up Chevy 1500 2wd <img border="0" alt="[Truck]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_truck.gif" /> ?

Will it bolt into a 99 Z ? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

To use a pickup tranny, it's got to be a 4L60E that went behind an LS1 based motor. 2000 and up pickups are cool. Not sure about '99s. If they have a 4.8 or 5.3L, then you're cool. The shift linkage is a little different is about the only thing I can think of that you'll need to swap.

OK ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

So a 00 or up is fine as long as it was equipped with an LS series motor !

Thanx Pat ! <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />
