Moser studs caused problems with my ABS
I ordered my 12 bolt Moser with the 4 channel setup since my car has TCS and ABS and I also had them press new ABS rings on my axle shafts. Got the 12 bolt in okay but my ABS or TCS doesn't work and I got the lights on the dash. My ABS pulsated all the time. It seams like the rear sensors/wires had problems. I triple checked the connections and everything is plugged in correctly. I made sure the right ABS wires went to the right side and left went to the left side. I counted the teeth on the rings. Yep, 47 teeth on each one so that can't be it. Hooked up an ohm meter to each sensor and found something interesting. As you may know, Moser installs long bolts for the wheel studs instead of using standard studs that have a low clearance head. The bolt heads of the Moser wheel studs run very close to the ABS sensors causing a different reading everytime the Moser studs come close to the sensor. I couldn't find the right size of spacer so I took a copper pipe and cut two 1/4" spacers for the sensors (one for each sensor). I also used a couple thick washers (1/4" thick) below the ABS sensor bracket which helps keep the sensor straight. My ohm readings seam to be fine now and match the front wheels. The spacers did the trick. Everything works fine now.
