Default Quick question

Hi guys,

Quick stupid question =]

If I buy a 3.42 gears and posi, it can bolt into my 2.73 right? Since it will replace the carrier?

And my question is, I don't need to worry about whether or not it has TC or ABS do I?

Yes if it's gears and carrier you will be fine.

Does YOUR car have ABS or TCS? If it does have ABS, you will need the 'new' posi to have a reluctor gear on it. If just TCS it doesn't matter whether the reluctor gear is there or not (the necessary ones will be on the axles).

it says gears and posi.

How would I be able to tell if it has the ABS gear? (By looking at it I mean) I'll try asking too, I just thought ABS was standard on all Z's.

It is, but the reluctor ring placement differs depending on if you have ABS vs. ABS/TCS. Just ABS? Big fat ring on posi. You'll see it. ABS/TCS? No ring on posi, rings on each axle.
