is this a good idea?

im a 15 yr. old taht is very interested in the LS1 industry. When i turn 16 my cuzin is giving me his 1998 Z28 A4 for a cheap price. I am currently saving up for a Vigalante 2800 - 3200 stall converter. I am just wondering if this is a good idea and if i would have to make any more modifications or do anything to the transmission with this stall converter?

A vig 2800 or 3200 will be fine. Buy a good tranny cooler too.
