Default help changing trans fluid ..I have the pan off now..

I dropped the tranny pan and I only have drained about 4-5 quarts of fluid. It his normal or is there something I should be doing to get more of it to drain?
Thanks

Did you make the mistake of trying to change that rubber/plastic seal between the filter and the trans? I cant get the origional one out and I messed it up real good. Any ideas on how to get it out? I am about to go to Sears to try and find a tool that I can get a grip on it with.

5 qts replacement ATF for pan drop. I've changed mine 3 times and this always put it right on the money for me.
Getting that little filter gasket out can be rough, what works for me is to get something with a tapered point like an awl, and CAREFULLY work it between the gasket and the housing, bend it in toward the center until you can grab it with some needlenose pliers.
To install the new filter gasket, get a socket that is just smaller than the housing and carefully tap it into place.

Thanks people.
I finally got the little gasket out but it wasnt easy. I gouged up the housing a little getting it out but I dont think it will affect anything. Next time that gasket is staying in. There really was nothing wrong with the old one.
