Paint / primer for 9-inch?

I apologize in advance if this topic has been beaten to death... but I couldn't find anything since the search function is messed up.

I bought a bare Moser housing from Scott, and I'm going to start assembling everything this weekend. What type of primer / paint should I use? Will the typical rustOleum stuff work, or is there a special brand everyone uses? I know that Scott mentioned something about self-etching primer.

what he said. you can brush it on and it dries smooth. make sure you get the cleaning and etching process with the paint.

I just got done painting mine, i used self etching primer from murrays,
and a ppg single stage stage black paint. It came out super glossy, turned
out much better than i expected..
