High HP Auto trans which one?

High HP Auto trans which one? I have had 2 4l60e's on my impala ss. The last one being built by Century here in Houston. It worked fine for 2 yrs but now with the gas it is dead. So what auto trans are you 500 RWHP guys using? I want a OD and a simular first gear ratio to the 4l60e.

There are other options though....4l80e, 200r4, few others...that if built right can hold...

Since you are from Texas, I will tell you that I had a 700R (non-electronic version of 4L60E)that I NEVER broke with my 69 Nitroused 650HP big block Camaro and I drove it for two years and took it on 2 Power Tours. This tranny was built by Larry over at Larry's Automotive in Ft Worth 817-207-0707. A second option would be Texas Best in Arlington. They have a built 4L60E that lives in the SpeekTek shop car that has roughly 680RWHP.
My son just tore up his STOCK A4 with his 550RWHP and 615TQ and I will be heading out to Larry's tom. to talk to him @ that as well.
I also have heard good things @ Speed Inc. and High Performance Associates trannies. So there's lots of good options.

I vote Speed Inc. if you are going to go 4l60e...they did my T-56 to TH400 swap, I was the first they have done, and its still good to this day after about 4500 miles on it...just need to make some shifter adjustments...

Re: High HP Auto trans which one? Thought I would chime in - as you know, Mike at Century builds the 200-4R tranny which we have talked about. So far so good - it is holding my near 3600 pound car for mid tens no problems so far.
