Default gear change in 10 bolt

i can think of 4 or 5 seperate people that had gears installed in there cars, one was even a firebird, and in every single one instance, the pinion gear had teeth taken off of it, is this a common problem i guess when putting gear sets in a 10 bolt? just trying to make a good choice on what to do 9 inch or just do my gears,

I would put gears in instead of 9"/12bolt. Aftermarket gear sets are very strong, when installed properly there should never be a gear tooth problem. The only way that the teeth will get chipped/broken is if the backlash on the ring gear is too tight. I am on my second set of 4.10's right now in my 10 bolt. When the first ones were installed the bearing caps were installed backwards and it spun a bearing on my posi ruining it and the gear set. Any more questions feel free to send a pm.
