U joint question
they pretty much have to be pressed out. pulling the driveshaft is easy, just four bolts on the pinion slide forward off the rear and back out of the tranny. Some guys get the stockers out by using a torch to melt the plastic/nylon cap retainers and beat the old one out with a hammer. Still probably need a press to get the new ones in. Probably easiest to take out the shaft and take it to a shop to get done.
Probably best to have a shop press them in. Just drop the shaft and take it to your favorite shop. The problem with beating them in is you have to be very careful the needle bearings don't come off the wall of the cap and end up flat on the bottom of the cap as your beating them in.
